Welcome to Gympie's Corbet's Group Mothar Mountain Speedway site. Our speedway is the home of many current and former State and National Champions, thus it's title "The Home of Champions."
Mothar Mountain Speedway is a unique Australian track in that its undulating "kidney" shape incorporates a tight hairpin bend. The track's history dates back to the early 1960s. Motorcycles raced around the challenging layout in the early days. Today sees speedway racing in a variety of classes from Junior Sedans, National 4's, Street Stocks, Production Sedans, Modified Sedans, Super Sedans, Late Models, AMCA and a selection of open wheelers.
Spectators are well catered for with 2 canteens for food and beverage, each with licensed areas. Sight lines and viewing is good from the many different points around the track, there are several viewing stands situated around the track and terraced banking - each spot having its own very different aspect.
The track surface receives a regulated topping of clay resurfacing, making track preparation manageable, predictable and reliable.
The Gympie Saloon Car Club Ltd. announces the continuation of the Naming Rights Sponsorship partnership of Gympie's Mothar Mountain Speedway with Corbet's Group. So, Corbet's Group Mothar Mountain Speedway will, once again, this season prove to be "The Home of Champions".

The Gympie Saloon Car Club proudly announces that Corbet's Group has, once again, taken up the rights as Naming Sponsors of Gympie's Mothar Mountain Speedway. This is great news and will see the continuation of the close partnership between the two bodies that will assist in the maintenance of the speedway complex as one of the major centres of the sport nation wide.
Gympie Saloon Car Club President, Allan Jennings, said that is was an honour for the Gympie Saloon Car Club Ltd to have the backing of such a major entity. This continuing partnership would ensure that the local Gympie speedway circuit will maintain a high profile within the national speedway scene.
Andrew Corbet, from Corbet's Group, was also happy about extending the sponsorship deal. He said that the Mountain has been a major speedway venue for many years and with so many National and State Champions learning their trade on the Mountain, proves just how important the track is.
Corbet's Group Mothar Mountain Speedway, The Home of Champions, will continue to provide first class speedway programming for all competitors and for its many fans.
The first of these major events for the upcoming 2019 /2020 season is the very popular Corbet's Group Gold Rush Modified Sedan Showdown. With the continued backing of the Corbet's Group, this major Modified Sedan event will remain on the National calendar for Modified Sedans.
The 2019 / 2020 speedway season getting underway on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October 2019 at Corbet's Group Mothar Mountain Speedway, will again provide everyone with the best action available; as only the Mountain can.
Only one more thing to say -
